In some exercises, the system allows the student to speak in order to answer the questions, using a feature called "Speech to Text" (STT) created by Google.
On PC
On Smartphone
In order to work, the STT must have access to the microphone on the user's device (computer, tablet or smartphone).
But this access is not allowed by default and the system does not have the permission to change it.
So the student must allow access to the microphone the first time he/she tries to use the STT.
The first time the student clicks the STT icon, the browser will ask for permission.
The student must allow access by clicking the "Allow" button.
If the student clicks "Allow", the STT feature begins listening.
If he clicks "Block", the STT won't work.
You can check whether access to the microphone is allowed or not by clicking the padlock icon in the address bar.
If the button next to "Microphone" is ON, Then everything is set.
But if the button is OFF, you must turn it ON.
On Desktop
